Sometimes you just don’t want to pay for a movie and you want to watch it now. Here’s comes the Internet to the rescue. Unfortunately, the Internet is loaded with junk websites and sites that are trying to get spyware on your computers. That’s where I come in.
I rounded up the eight best sites for watching movies for free. Each of these sites have a large selection of videos to watch and I’ve had good luck with them.
Not the best selection and not any new releases but LEGAL.
I love Hulu.com and I will always promote it. I use Hulu all the time, mostly for TV, but it has a good selection of movies as well. None of these movies are particularly new but it gives you options to catch a movie that may have avoided your eyes. The best part of Hulu is that it’s legal by having a few commercials placed into the video, they are definitely doable.
Joost is relatively new to the online site video provider. This is because it was originally a program but has since converted into a flash distributer. Joost has a good selection of movies but, just like Hulu, most of them aren’t that new.
Fancast.com is another great site to get movies and TV shows. The only problem with Fancast is that it only works with Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. Fancast runs on a similar model to Hulu and you’ll have to watch advertisements throughout the video but remember it’s legal.
NOT on the Legal Path Sites
These sites have a better selection of new releases and even movies still in theaters.
MyMovees.com is my favorite site and I just recently came across it. I really enjoy the clean design and appreciate no pop-up ads. The only annoying thing is that it has YouTube movie trailers playing automatically on every page. Only has movies.
TVShack.com is a nicely designed site and is very easy to use. It’s one of the better sites on this list but does have occasional pop-ups but if you have a pop-up blocker it’ll take care of it. It has a good selection of movies and TV shows.
FastPassTV.com appears to have a larger collection than the two above but it has pop-ups that get around my pop-up blocker and that doesn’t make me happy. I obviously will suffer to get some older movies because if you want something free you have to do it.
Watch-Movies-Links.net reminds me a lot of a MP3 search engine, where the site finds different sites hosting MP3s. Watch-Movies-Links does this for movies and finds sites that have the movie you’re looking for. The problem with sites like these is that you’ll find a lot of broken links, which makes you have to hunt through the options. It has a good rating system for success but it still requires more clicks, which I don’t enjoy.
This used to be my go to site for TV and movies. I’ve always have liked it because it has a no frill design and is updated frequently to update when any links get broken. I still like this site but it added pop-ups that, as you know by now, I hate. I don’t always get pop-ups, which means its on some kind of counter, but nevertheless it has steered me away from it. I put this site down though because it is reliable and when you run out of options for a popular show, WatchTVSitcoms will give a good link.
